Who are ya?
Here’s the bullsh*t bio I’ve been using:

Grace Su also known as “Peachies” is an editor by day and jack-of-all-trades by night. Some titles include: blogger, producer, music video extra, and Facebook whore. As a filmmaker, she is best known for her short documentary, FUTURE ROCK STARS OF AMERICA, a piece about a community surrounding Asian American musicians in Los Angeles. She has also been known for her involvement with online grassroots marketing of films and music (through Xanga, Myspace, and her own site). More recently, she had a key role in music supervision for WEST 32ND and is the curator of the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival’s music video program. www. peachies. net

Where ya at?
Los Angeles, CA

Why are you different?
Even though I live in LA, I don’t really fit. I was always the girl sitting on the bench watching other kids play.

How did you get started/your Aha moment?
I’ve been on the Internet since I was in 5th grade. I used to make websites for fun and join every freakin’ social networking site available. But it all really started with an Asian American Studies class at UC Santa Cruz and during that time, I used to blog a lot on Xanga. One day I started promoting for BETTER LUCK TOMORROW and some Asian American bands on my blog. Then it just went from there… I started meeting people and they had already heard of “Peachies” (my username for most things online). I owe a lot of credit to the Internet for building up my social network.

What is your goal?
Right now, it’s to figure out what I want to do with my life. I guess I want to do something influential and there are so many things I want to do! I get confused.

Also, I produced a short film called MY FIRST CRUSH earlier this year. This is the second project I’ve produced for director Rocky Jo. We’re hoping to bring it to some film festivals.

Any recommendation for bands/films/projects that people haven’t heard of that should?
Music: There is a band called Django James… they are amazing. You gotta see them live.

Film: THE PEOPLE I’VE SLEPT WITH should be hilarious. It stars Karin Anna Cheung and Archie Kao. Written by Koji Steven Sakai and directed by Quentin Lee. You might be able to catch me in one of the scenes.
