I am a local Bay Area film maker who is working on finishing up a PBS production project with S. Leo Chiang on the New Orleans East Vietnamese American community of Versailles . The project explores the community’s rebuilding processes after the Hurricane Katrina.

I am trying to find and price a translator to work with us on the project. Ideally, someone in the Bay Area would be what we are looking for. I would like to know how much a translator would cost to 1) translate an hour of footage in Vietnamese (from a DV tape or DVD with a time code on it) into written English; and 2) translate an hour of footage in Vietnamese (again from a DV tape or DVD with a time code on it) into written Vietnamese and then written English.

We have many hours of footage that we need to have this done for!

Please pass this on to folks who may be interested and let me know what price ranges look like. We prefer people who have professional translating experience.

Thank You,
Brittney Shepherd
