Production Assistants wanted for Music Video (NY)
from AArisings by wonderfulcow
Production assistants wanted to work on a music video called “Cop Bar” by Indie singer-songwriter/nouveau celeb Jimmy Lloyd.

The concept is as follows: Setting is a rowdy , gritty Cop Bar, set somewhere in North Jersey or the outer boroughs of NYC. Guy ends up there who is not a cop.. wrong place, wrong time kind of thing.. you get the gist. Gets into a tangle with the Alpha Cop over the only pretty girl in the bar.. resulting in a raucous beer throwing, moshpit culmination. Felini-esque in terms of non-cop characters. All kinds of off duty cop shenanigans going on..ie envelopes changing hands with on-the-take money etc..Probably 50 extras or so. This may possibly be adapted to a short length film if we meet the right people who can do it. We already have Producer and Director and a modest budget. Pay is low or nothing but great opportunity to build your experience and work with some great people. Include your comp reqs in response.

“Double Features” casting Leads (SF)
from AArisings by wonderfulcow
Double Features is from the writer / director of “Cross Fader” which played at the 2008 SFI Asian American Film Festival (among others). The film is a 10min short (no dialogue) about a chance encounter between two broken-hearted dreamers in an art house movie theater. Production is two nights of of shooting and a few pickup shots in San Francisco during the last weekend of August 2008. The job is unpaid (it’s a labor of love film), but we offer a copy of the final product for your reel, credit and meals while working.

Casting:

MAGGIE is a bundle of contradictions: cute and quirky with an edge to her (think Faye Wong in “Chungking Express”), bookish but in a hip kind of way, a romantic under a cynical shell. She works in an old art house cinema, nursing a recently broken heart, searching for a love story with a happy ending to call her own.

JET is young man out of his time. He wears an old-fashioned suit like a movie star from another era, and is obsessed with the fantastical world of movies. His relationship has ended, but he’s stuck in an endless loop of memory. And then reality knocks him back into the present.
