Judd and the University of Kentucky basketball team, led by first-year head coach John Calipari, has helped raise over $1 million for Haiti earthquake relief. An auction for the cause included a dinner with the coach and actress Ashley Judd, going for $98,100.

Judd told the Herald-Leader that her personal chef would prepare the dinner which will be at Coach Calipari’s house probably sometime in the summer. She went on to say Kentucky basketball players may stop by and that they intended to do “whatever we can do to make it (the dinner) as worth this person’s money as possible.”

About neaat

The NETWORK OF ENTERTAINING ASIAN AMERICAN TALENT ORG is an independent site for information on Asian American Arts, Talent, Culture, and Entertainment. NEAATO started as a myspace page under http://www.myspace.com/asianamericannetwork and also a blog in 2007 (http://www.neaat.wordpress.com/) by Donnytello Tran. The idea was made when we noticed our friends on Myspace were posting more information about their work online through bulletins instead of waiting to get published in magazines or an Asian American Blog. We decided to put all these ‘posts’ together and share it with anyone that was interested and NEAATO was born. The current NEAATO blog site is http://www.neaato.com/. NEAATO was inspired by Bruce Lee’s quote: “"To hell with circumstances; I create opportunities.”

What a very cool thing to do! I’m thrilled but not surprised. Paul Orberson is a fine man who demonstrates wonderful leadership with his company Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing, as well as generosity. Way to go Paul, Ashley and Coach Calipari! It’s a great way to raise money for Haiti’s long recovery ahead.
