We have two screenings of past favorites from the L.A. Asian Pacific Film Festival coming up…don’t miss them! This Weekend: OCEAN OF PEARLS
Award-Winning Feature Film Plays in Cerritos

amrit_singhVisual Communications proudly wraps up its mini-series of award-winning works from last year’s L.A. Asian Pacific Film Festival on Saturday, March 21, 3:00 pm, at the Cerritos Public Library with a special screening of Sarab Neelam’s OCEAN OF PEARLS, the Festival’s Grand Jury Award and Audience Award winner. Arguably the first feature-length film to articulate the experiences of Sikh Americans, the film will be accompanied by appearances of select cast and crew members (subject to confirmation). Fay Ann Lee’s Film Opens Reel Film Festival for Women

RFFW LogoIn partnership with the Reel Film Festival for Women, Visual Communications is co-presenting their Opening Night feature, Fay Ann Lee’s “Falling for Grace,” screening March 27, 8:00 pm, at the Laemmle’s Music Hall 3. “Falling for Grace” stars Fay Ann Lee as Grace Tang, an ambitious Wall Street banker determined to work her way out of working-class Chinatown. The romantic comedy also stars Margaret Cho, Lewis Black, Christine Baranski and Ken Leung. Visit the Reel Film Festival website for ticket information and to view the trailer.

Film Contest NOW Until Apr. 10
Film Fest’s B Real Film Contest to Raise Awareness on Hep B

The Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and Gilead Sciences, Inc. are inviting submissions to the Festival’s first ever B Real Film Contest to produce a 30-second short to raise public awareness about hepatitis B. Finalists will have their videos shown online and during the Festival, and viewers will be able to vote for their favorites. Cash prizes will be awarded to the Grand Prize and Community Response Award winners. For guidelines, click here. Good luck, let’s see your best work!
