NETWORK OF ENTERTAINING ASIAN AMERICAN TALENT
ANNA Vo and Rachel Lam will wear the traditional Ao Dai Vietnamese dress at this year’s Miss Viet-UC pageant finals.
The pair beat more than 50 girls from across Australia to win a spot in the pageant’s top 20 finals at Mounties club at Mt Pritchard on Friday, April 2.
Ms Vo, 20, who is half Vietnamese and half Italian, said she was excited and honoured to be competing in her first pageant.
“I’m very grateful and privileged and feel like it’s my duty to represent all the beautiful Australian Vietnamese women,” she said.
Ms Lam, 17, from Bankstown was born in Vietnam.
The teenager said her favourite part of the pageant was wearing the traditional Vietnamese dress.
“It’s very elegant and very feminine,” she said.
The competition, run by Vanity Management, requires the finalists to compete in formal wear, swimwear and Ao Dai (traditional dress) categories.
The finalists are in the running for Miss Photogenic, Miss Congeniality, Miss People’s Choice and Miss Ao Dai titles.
