My interview for Hyphen Magazine with Jennifer Phang, the Director of Advantageous, which won the U.S. Dramatic Special Jury Prize for Collaborative Vision at 2015 Sundance. Jennifer talks about how the anime/manga Ghost in the Shell, the TV shows Mad Men and Battlestar Galactica as well as the novel/film The Age of Innocence influenced her vision for the film, how directing Ken Jeong in an “indie role” brought out his intelligence and subtle craft decisions as an actor, what expanding the short into a feature was like, and what is next for both her and the film.
