    Hi NEAAT,

This is such a great idea. Thank you smart folks for creating this forum.

Here is a quick self indulgent and narcissistic bio of myself:

Eddie Song is a recent graduate from the University of Notre Dame (2006). He studied Film & Television and Sociology whenever he wasn’t drunk or hungover. He is currently in Tokyo, Japan, “teaching English” to the natives while freelancing on his free time. He’ll do it all — direct, edit, produce, cast, and gather crew — on every kind of project — feature films, shorts, music videos, and even that wacky experimental goodness. And most importantly, he’ll do it for free! He would love to work with other talented and aspiring individuals in the entertainment industry to hone skills and most importantly, have fun.

This past summer, Eddie was director’s assistant on Michael Kang’s latest feature film, “West 32nd.” Before that, he was the Street Promotions Coordinator for director Kang’s first feature, “The Motel.” Eddie has also created many shorts, including a film for the 72 HR Shootout in NYC this past summer, a documentary on bboying (breakdancing), and another one on an independent rapper at Notre Dame.

Currently he is crewing for two projects in Tokyo. One is a feature film that looks into the life of a lonely and suicidal female during Christmas time in Tokyo. The other is an experimental documentary commenting on the nature of narrative while capturing this transitional phase of Japan’s history. He is also producing and directing music videos for indie rappers and rock bands.

Our feature film project in Tokyo, Japan seeks a makeup artist. Although we cannot compensate in money, we will definitely feed you and provide copious amounts of fresh Japanese coffee. Mmm. The crew is very international, friendly, and motivated. Although we have drive, we realize we are still learning, so our perspective on our current project is to do our best but learn in the process. We will mostly be speaking English for the crew, while the film and cast will communicate in Japanese. Both English, Spanish, and Japanese speakers are all welcome. Background and fluency is not important! We look forward to working with you (and your friends, if you could be so kind and spread the good word)!

I am unsure if this is too long or completely irrelevant and in the wrong section, but I shall explore this site and see where proper posts should go! Excuse me if I have jumped the gun, but your site just got me very excited. Thank you once again, N.E.A.A.T. Rock on. Best of luck! I can’t wait to see how big this becomes.

Hi this is NEAT! Love the concept of Neaat and it is so needed thank you for doing this, but I can’t find your contact or e-mail anywhere so I am posting this in the comments section. I am Bryan Au and my story is very unique. It started with Yoga, world travel, finding Raw Organic Cuisine during my travels, finding out that Raw Organic Cuisine can cure cancer, diabetes, many modern problems, save the environment and all in the most fun, easy super delicious gourmet way possible! People love good food and that is what RAW Organic is, only better, healthier and more vibrant than any new cuisine that you have ever tried. I wrote the now best selling raw organic recipe book titled RAW IN TEN MINUTES these are my super special recipes that only takes 10 minutes or much less to make and they are ready to serve, eat and enjoy. They all look like your favorite comfort and junk foods but now they are the most healthy, fast, fun, raw and organic! After the book came out Hollywood kept inviting me to do TV Show interviews, commercials, videos, acting, modeling and more! Here are some links to some of my acting and modeling:

I am uncredited in the new Will Smith Movie: PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS

This is a TV Show Interview I did for Insider Exclusive about my book/food and more:

I am the Celebrity Model for the VOICE Energy Muse Jewelry, this one works ‘yall! Totally seriously when I got THE VOICE Necklace the combo of Carnelian and Feng Shui Coin brought me tons of wealth, work, gigs, success and more, It seriously works and I am not just saying that because I am the model, my friends tried it and love it, and heck Britney Spears, Usher and yes Rodney Yee wear it too:

    http://energymuse.com/celebrity_thumbnails.asp

Also the model and spokesmodel for:

    http://www.ExtremeHealthGoji.com

I am also in a new Latin Music Video by Pastilla they are currently #3 on the Latin Music Charts and it will be on Latin MTV, I play a sleezy TV Show host that hits on all the ladies, all of them dig it except for one who slaps me and gets into all sorts of dramas, it features me in most of the Video, I get to speak some Vietnamese too and there are upcoming hot Asian Female models, it is a very visual piece and funny so it comes off as more humorous rather than a negative image which I WILL NEVER PORTRAY! I will only do positive, good roles for Asian American Representation that is my #1 Rule!

I also recently did a Kung Fu Commercial for http://www.Swapedo.com they are the next Google.com and next YouTube.com type of Internet Success story, they are making eCommerce fast, fun and easy, and free, you can set up a link/window with them when they launch in a few more weeks and you can place a small window/link that is like a Banner and it handles ALL eCommerce transactions for you, so if you are selling anything, like a DVD, CD etc. it makes it simple, easy and you can easily post it on your MySpace, eBay, Website, it will revolutionize the way you buy and sell on the Internet they showed me sneak peaks it is AWESOME! And I wrote/directed/starred/choreogrpahed kung fu action it their commercial! I do Jackie Chan type of moves and it is really funny, I am in a Park making food, 2 ninjas come after me, at first when they come up I ask them “Hey! Isn’t it kinda warm to go skiing???” then one of them attacks me and tried to hit me over the head with a club/weapon at the last minute I use the bowl of food to cover my head from getting hit so at the last possible second the food bowl covers my head just as he is about to hit it and make contact with the club but it hits the bowl instead but all the food drops on my head/face/body so it is very funny and visual, then we go into some really silly funny kung fu action, they are editing the commercial now so sign up for Swapedo.com for free they doing some fixes so you may have to be patient while they are in pre launch, look for my commercial it is REALLY FUNNY, one of the ninjas gets pantsed and then I kick him to the ground and he falls on top of the other ninja with his pants at his ankles. And other funny kung fu humor, I also have another Kung fu commercial with a model, where we battle for a Swapedo.com t-shirt, we even break dance battle at one point for it, just hilarious commercials that I wrote, direct, star in, I think they will be on YouTube and on Swapedo.com as well!

I am also supposed to have my own RAW TV Show Series soon. I signed contracts with NEW ARTIST MANAGEMENT AGENCY in Beverly Hills they are one of the top agencies, they share offices with THE FIRM. I also have Beverly Hills Talent Agents also. So am keeping busy, learning a lot and having fun!

    All the best,
    Bryan Au

    Hi!
I’m very much missing the casting notices for the pilots, finally, decent notices for decent parts on networks. Would you please let me know where to find them? Are they still getting posted? I haven’t seen anything since February. Mandy is no good whatsoever for casting out here…just junk and student films.

    thanks so very much!

    Hi NEAAT(O),

Ryan Flynn of White Orchid notoriety has recently posted a note on his blog (whiteorchid.wordpress.com) stating, “..Ryan does not operated under the email of dr.flynn.r@gmail.com and does not claim to be a Dr.”

Were you ever in contact with the “actual” Ryan Flynn or the (claimed fake) dr.flynn.r@gmail.com?

Please contact me at the address supplied for this comment, and please remove this blog comment.

Hi everyone, This is a great idea and the name is just icing. I was googling to see if there are any Vietnamese American magazines out there – and found Nha and then ended up here.

I’m an emerging photographer originally from NYC but relocated to SF for photo school. I have been thinking about a photo project involving Asian Americans and wanted to go somewhere I could easily connect with other artists.

Check out my work. Drop me a line.

    Cheers, Cat

Hi, thanks for the posts about Caachi. Just saw that after looking at our traffic records. If you need any info about us, let me know. Though we focus on all types of films, we definitely would like to get more Asian talent on every 2 dimensional screen out there. I’m one of the founders, along with Charles Choi.

    Hello NEAAT!

I cannot tell you how appreciative I was of your site the moment I stumbled onto it! I was just googling casting calls for asians and that’s when I found your site.

    It is amazing, beyond phenomenal.

The layout of your site is just incredible. There’s a nice clear background with a very nice font. I love that your site is not cluttered with flashy pictures or advertisements like almost every other website out there.

Every casting call and job opportunity is clearly stated with a description and requirements. It is so easy to read your posts.

The information is up to date and you provide us with lots of opportunities for casting and internships.

So, NEAAT, keep doing what your doing! Thank you so much for creating this site and posting on it!

    Lyah

    Hi Isaac,

I am the casting coordinator at a Chicago-based production company. We specialize in producing documentaries and docu-dramas for various networks, including A&E, The History Channel, Animal Planet, and Discovery Channel.

I am working now to cast an episode of a new one-hour program which will be airing on cable television in the spring. This particular episode documents the real-life case of an undercover FBI agent who poses as a member of the mafia in order to bust a massive counterfeit and smuggling operation.

A number of the smugglers involved in the case were older Chinese, and we are looking to cast some actors in these roles for the recreation segments of the program.

We are looking to cast the following roles:

    1. CHARLEY (early 60’s, thin build, Chinese)
    2. MAY (early 60’s, thin build, Chinese)
    3. KEITH (early to mid 40’s, Chinese, tattoos in arms)
    4. JIMMY (mid 30s, Chinese)

These roles will be paid, the amount to be determined upon casting.

The shoot dates are planned for sometime between December 5-9. Filming will be in CHICAGO.

Please respond with headshot/photos and resumes to bucca.casting@gmail.com

Why do all these posts ask for help or self-promote themselves. It’s a disgrace. This is a page to encourage the staff at NEAATO. Instead of shamelessly plugging yourself, work hard and network some other way.
